Pronunciation
Pronunciation /e/ and /eɪ/
Âm /e/:
- Âm /e/: So với âm /ɪ/, khi phát âm nguyên âm ngắn /e/ :
- lưỡi sẽ được hạ thấp hơn
- phần sau lưỡi cũng hạ thấp hơn một chút
- miệng mở rộng sang hai bên hơn một chút
- phát âm rất ngắn
- Practice with some words: pen, end, head, met, get…
Âm /eɪ/:
- Âm /eɪ/: Khi phát âm nguyên âm đôi /eɪ/, cần chuyển từ phát âm âm /e/ đến phát âm âm /ɪ/:
- lưỡi di chuyển lên trên
- môi chuyển từ hơi mở rộng đến mở sang hai bên
- phần âm /e/ được phát âm dài và to hơn so với phần âm /ɪ/
- Practice with some words: aim, gate, lake, late, break…

Task 2. Label the signs in 1 with the words/phareses below.

Task 3. Work in pairs. Discuss which of the signs you see on the way to school.

B: On the way to school, I see a "no turn right" sign.
Task 4. Listen and repeat. Pay attention to sounds /e/ and /ei/.

Task 5. Listen to these sentences carefully. Single-underline the words with sound /e/ and double-underline the words with sound /ei/.
